Further Events and Offers for Doctoral Candidates:
Application Period 10. Cohort EGP Mentoring - Deadline 28. June, 2026
Erste Generation Promotion Mentoring+ is an offer for doctoral candidates and advanced master students at the UoC with a non-academic family background. The goal of the program is to support participants in completing their Phd and overcoming specific problems.
To achieve this, we provide all participants with a mentor who is close to the subject, has already completed a doctorate, and also shares the non-academic family background. With their mentor, the mentees can exchange ideas and talk openly about experiences of foreignness in the subject or in relation to the family, questions of career development or all other questions relating to the topic of doing a Phd.
In addition, there is a mandatory workshop program for the mentees. The workshops are held in German, but the one-to-one mentoring can also be held in English. The events take place partly online, partly in presence.
You can find all information about participation and the application here: uni-koeln.de/egp
The application deadline is 28 June 2026.
