Presentation event for dissertation projects

Friday 8 May 202, 9 am to 5 pm

The presentation day is intended to show which work the doctoral students of the faculty have done so far and which objectives they already achieved.
It provides a forum to present the own doctoral project, to reflect and discuss it with other doctoral students and professors and to get to know the projects of the other participants.

Doctoral candidates will present and discuss projects from all subjects and from all different stages. Therefore, those who are still at the beginning or in the planning stage of their research project are as welcome to present their ideas as those who are already at a more advanced stage or perhaps even have some results to show.

The program:

The doctoral projects should be presented either in the form of a scientific poster or a short oral presentation. The time slots are kept short: A frame of 20 minutes is provided for each doctoral project, of which approx. 10 minutes are reserved for the presentation (presentation of the poster or oral presentation) and approx. 10 minutes for questions and a short discussion.

To ensure that presentations and discussions are successful even across disciplines, it is important that each doctoral project is presented in a form that is comprehensible to those outside the discipline.

Participants who would like to write their dissertation in English or present it in English are cordially invited to prepare an English presentation.

During the breaks and at the end of the presentation day, everyone will have the opportunity to network and socialise while enjoying some drinks and snacks.

After the end of the registration period, the definite programme will be arranged in accordance with the participants’ doctoral projects.
Participants are therefore asked to submit an abstract of their dissertation project of no more than one page with their registration, but no later than Friday, 17 April 2020 to: Graduiertenschule-HFSpamProtectionuni-koeln.de. The final programme will then be announced at the end of the registration period.
