Hearing of Allegations of scientific misconduct
Not all cases of non-compliance with the standards of good scientific practice constitute academic misconduct in the strict sense.
However, if academic misconduct is detected or there is reasonable suspicion of it, you may contact the University’s Commission for the Safeguarding of Good Scientific Practice or the University’s Ombudsperson.
The Commission for the Safeguarding of Good Scientific Practice comprises one academic staff member from each faculty, two representatives of the mid-level academic staff, and the Ombudsperson. The Vice-Rector for Research chairs the Commission ex officio.
The Commission’s tasks include contributing to the formulation and further development of standards of good scientific practice.
Another task is to investigate matters such as possible misconduct. It works closely with the University Ombudsman. The Commission investigates the facts of the case – including by consulting relevant expert opinions – and, on this basis, prepares recommendations for the Rectorate.
The Commission for the Safeguarding of Good Scientific Practice meets every few months and may be convened in exceptional circumstances.
